Wireless security?

i got a wireless router and verizon told me to type in xxx.xxx.x.x (i dont want to say the real numbers) into my browser to change the settings. I made it so that the SSID is Gabe (my name). and i enabled mac filtering. so far i have added my macbook, my wii and DS. there is a PC but it has an either net wire (i think). also there is a WEP password. under the settings for choices are WEP, WAP-PSK, and disabled. is there any thing i can do to make it more secure. my friend said to get WAP security but its not a option but there is WAP-PSK. thx for ur help

im gona hack you.

You can look on the bottom of your router/modem and get your wep key. Verizon should have enabled wireless encryption for you already but if not then you can use either WAP or WEP. They are both fairly secure. WAP-psk is a shared key feature and you wouldnt want to use it more then likely.

WEP is the best one to use right now because all computers/consoles support WEP - if you can use 128 bit encryption.
Go with wpa-psk and put a password to it.Wep can be hacked for fun ,not secure at all
go with wpa psk , wep is just garbage , also do not use

your name as your wifi name because it can be interesting to a hacker.
Do NOT use WEP. It is very insecure, just do a google search. Some people can crack a WEP key in less than 5 minutes...

WPA-PSK is far more secure, but only if you use a VERY secure password.

Here is an excellent website that will generate a secure WPA password: http://www.kurtm.net/wpa-pskgen/

Good luck.
