The games page won't load up on King.com-help and support are anything but..... any ideas?

I upgraded a couple of months ago and all was fine. Then it stopped working and I was getting an error:-1000 and the game page wouldn't load. Somehow I managed to get back on at a later date but its happened repeatedly since and I haven't been able to get on at all for the past month. It gets as far as the loading page then nothing!

Help and support are worse than useless, suggesting all the things I'd already tried. I use mozilla firefox, changing to IE is even worse as it states I don't have flash player (which I do) and attempts to install it - unsuccessfully. Flash, Shockwave and various browsers are all up to date. The "secure game control" isn't on my computer and its apparently too much like hard work to send me a link to redownload this. I'm pretty sure a registry cleaner removed the game control but it wouldn't allow me to restore (since deleted the program). Searched Google with no joy and even got a mate to upgrade on my pc hoping the activex download would pop up -it didn't

If by upgrade you mean you are now running Vista, then the only thing 'wrong' here is that King.com games are not fully Vista compatible at this time. You've got to just wait it out I'm afraid. Don't mess about with your settings or programs any more, your shockwave player will be fine.

Do a Google search for free online games companies, there are many out there and some that run a 'reward' points system like King.com do. Please just be aware of adware and spyware and scan and check before you sign up with anyone.

Edit: Okay, now that's a different ball game. I would keep on at King.com to help you out as you are now a paying customer. If it was working fine before (especially on xp) then there is even less reason why it shouldn't work now. As far as I can remember there is a tool within the King.com help pages which will test your system and offer options.

However the biggest thing here is that you are a paying customer and it is within their remit to help you out as much as is humanly possible whatever level of 'computer knowledge' you have. Good luck.

I'm also getting the error "unable to connect with game server - please check your firewall settings". after running a registry cleaner. There is nowhere on the site to download the Active-X control again (Which let's face it is pretty dumb!) Please let me know if you have any joy Report It


PS - The "test your system" link on the site also says my computer is fine. - It has to be the Active-X control. Have emailed them again and will keep you posted how i get on Report It


I did all the uninstalls and reintalls of Flash Player. I finally turned off the "protected mode" in Internet Explorer. Started working at that point. Report It


im having a similar problem. OS is vista, but when i get to the loading page, the URL has "testpagesetup" in it. weird. and when i try to "test my computer" the same thing happens, blank page. wtf? Report It
