I have a website with a permanent ip address, i want to install a proxy server?

my site supports php mysql and the basics common works... what is it that i can do to route certain webtraffic to that site... so that everytime someone looks up the log it would look like i have been spending a lot of time with my site... and none of the traffic can be monitored

and how can i make it secure..... i want it accessible by me and a few login ids

and is it that i can do it via setting a proxy server address in my browser or can it be configured to work as a http page that does this thing in the background like many of the webproxy sites i see online?

do advice me on what i should be looking for and the associated details

Well, the first question I have is for what purpose? You have carefully left out why you want to do this. I suspect your intentions are not honorable. (reviewers please thumbs up if you see this question this way).

To answer your question, you probably want to get hold of Squid and install that. Then you will want to setup the proxy setting in your browsers to your IP address (you may have to add a port) of the Squid server. This will route all your request to the proxy server. Unless you are in a corporate environment where the only way to get to the internet is through your proxy server you are never going to get people to switch their browser over to you shady setup.

It sounds like you and others want to spy on what they are doing.

What webproxy sites are you referring to?
